blac rock with silver flakes in it

I was at Daytona beach for my honey moon in December of 06 and while walking on the beach I found a black rock with silver flakes in it I thought maybe it was a piece of silver encrusted or something that might have come off of a ship but when I passed it under my metal detector it gave no signal I was just wondering if anyone might help me identify it...Thanx in advance
