Hit my first Mercury Dime. It's a crying shame that it is all but unrecognizable. I knew it was silver looking at the edge but when I popped it out of the roll it looked like someone tried to clean it with acid. There's a hunk missing out of the face and I can only ID it by a small section of the torch on the back side.. Well it's still silver and worth something more than a dime so I'll count it a win..

I found one like that, I cleaned. and was able to see "One Dime" on the back

I am sorry your first looked like that, your right it is a shame that someone would do that to it.I have only found 2 mercs in the wild.

Man is that thing messed up!

Ironically the first dime i ever found was a merc, i just found 2 the other day in 1 box i found a merc and a barber. Keep looking and you'll eventually find a nice one.

I've only found one in the wild and it wasn't great looking either. Hey, at least you found it! :icon_thumleft:

Just a thought, but it might be fun to have an "Ugliest Dime/Quarter/Half" contest every once and a while. Must be a silver coin bagged in the wild through traditional CRH practices. Nomatic00's dime could be the honorary first winner..:goldtrophy:.
