I got out for two hours today after work to my usual camp site field. It was snow covered yesterday but we got about 6 inches of rain in the past 24 hours so it is now wide open. This is the first time I have hunted in the rain and what a difference it makes. The flakes and debitage were visible everywhere. The finds are nothing to get too excited aboutbut I was very pleased. I especially like the large red preform. You can see where the corner was notched on the right hand side but was discarded prior to finishing. At least that is how it looks to me. I also like the stemmed pieces but as usual the tips are broken off. I think the large white point would have been a real beauty. Finely knapped and a beautiful white quartz. One of these days I am going to find a killer on this field. Thanks for looking.

The one looks pretty much whole. Nice

Sweet finds Romeo;

I can't wait till the weather breaks some. Just got permission to hunt 2 new fields in southern IN.

Those are awesome!! I am a new guy at this and fully addicted. One thing that I am not certain of is... what is a "preform"? I guess by the context that you use it in... its an arrowhead that was started but not finished? The one you found is such a fine looking point.... I can't imagine why the maker would have stopped and disguarded it. Again.... awesome finds!

Hello there,

I do believe that nice knife blade,it was probally was twice the size
from reshapening on the one side only giving it the off centered look.
That sure is a beautiful flint, Do you know its name?
