Your memories will last forever. I like that point that you found too. I do love that avatar point that he found. You must be in a good area for them.

Cherish the memories. I miss my Dad terribly. He always had a knack for spotting artifacts that I had just walked over. I can't wait to see him again. I wish I had gotten hin into MDing when he was physically capable.

The avatar is a Kirk Corner Notched and mine is a Savannah River.

I'm Sorry for your loss. I don't know how you feel.! Question, when your hunting for artifacts or just out in nature fishing or hiking do you feel closest to him?
Sweat Point by the way!

Both. I grew up with hunting and fishing with him and even started him bow hunting when he was in his 50's. I was able to teach him and he accomplished something not many people will ever do, kill a turkey with a bow and not use a blind. A deer with a bow is a piece of cake, but a turkey is the real deal.

I can look at my collection of personal finds and remember the day when we found a particular point or the day when we found 75 whole points and at least that many broken ones. He loved it more than anything and if you had listened to him, he found all of the points and I didn't find anything.

The hobby is bittersweet when your mentors are gone now, my mentor was my brother and miss him every day, glad you got into the hobby and your Dad is still watching over!

Thats awesome you got him into bow hunting. It's a great thing when children and parents have the same hobbies and interests. Lots of good memories to look back on! HH!!

Its funny how when we are young we don't see how we are just like our father's. Every day as I grow older i look more and more like my dad he died 3 years ago, and now every time I look in the mirror I see him and his wisdom showing in me. We are the the same so I am sure if you found it or he did he was referring to both of you. Life is short make the best of it for your children as well.
God Bless

I feel your pain with the loss of your father. My grandfather was the one who introduced me to looking for artifacts and he has been gone a very long time. That is an incredible point you posted!

good point find
