For my birthday this December, I went relic hunting at a buddy's house in Franklin, TN. I've hunted it several times in the past and have always been able to dig a few relics. But this time he had invited me over to hunt because he had some excavating done for new construction and sewer, etc... It seems that it's always the other guy that gets these opportunities, but not this time. It was MY birthday! I've hunted for about 16 hours so far and have found 38 bullets, 2 canister shot, 3 friction primers, perc cap, Union Infantry button, knapsack hook, cap box finial and some rivets! For me this was an epic birthday present! The best part is that I have found most of these relics under a gravel driveway. The bullets - almost all dropped and pristine - have an interesting patina due to the limestone above. In the pic, I think you can see the more normal "yellow" patina on the ones (right side of pic) I found in the yard. Merry Christmas everyone! mark
