Nice case and points. Must be nice to know a trade like making your own cases. How much does it cost to make one (normal size)?

I'm not sure I don't keep track . I just buy material as needed wood is the expensive part .

I like both the points and the case. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, nice bird points and frame. I like the way you display the points. Do you also sell frames or just make them for your point collection?

Cool case if points.
I'd like to try and make a few in the future. Hope they look anywhere nice as that.

Looks like you have some nice points yourself Texas ?

Looks to be some gar scales in LoneStars pics also. I know they did use them as points.

You know , it's funny, We used to find them here and there. Not the irregular body scales, just the more symmetrical ones. Some of them even appear ground on one side to make the symmetry more exact. They are harder than flint though, and won't fracture on impact.

About 12 years ago me and a buddie did a sifting experiment at one location, totally on a whim, as the fishing was slow. We got about 218 flint and petrified wood arrow points between us in about 8 hours. No dart points, just smaller arrowhead size. There were also about 18-20 gar scales in the same matrix we worked.
If they were in one spot, I'd assume a dead fish, but they were pretty evenly spaced over the 75 feet of bank we worked, and at different depths. That did it for me.
