Well Gang, today began early! I was up at 3:30am on go and pointing! I took my time but hurried to Raton, NM to check out a tot lot at a local school. I'd passed it by yesterday too tired to stop. I grabbed Bigg Fisher Dogg F-75 to see if he was ready to hunt. Immediately, I began having the same problems as yesterday with the screen going blank. I happened to brush the coil cable and hearing crackling realized something was definitely wrong. The coil cable connection was loose. Wednesday night, after having a pretty good day with the F-75 I had installed the free bonnet which came with the unit. Inadvertently, I'd failed to tighten down the grip nut. With the bonnet installed, I assumed all was well. It's a wonder the machine worked at all. Anyway, problem solved and the Dogg is wagging on go! Feeling much more confident with my new machine I actually cranked up SENSITIVITY to MAX but had to reduce down in the 80 range for most of my morning hunt. Here's my take for today and a few pictures of the area. Honestly, the 1869 Indian Head Penny was found under monkey bars! Can you believe it? I almost stroked. Some Dad somewhere is crying!!! I also included a few pictures of the park area where I had so much trouble with interference. ---

COIN COUNT:
71 Lincolns
01 1869 Indian Head Penny
16 Nickels (my best nickel day ever!)
12 Dimes
11 Quarters
01 SBA Dollar (my second ever)

TOTAL 113 COINS VALUE $6.47

nice collection :)

Ha!

That don't sound good. Loose battery or internal connection??

Since it was under the rain hood I call it an "internal connection" and I want 20% of the loot! :D

Good finds and great to hear you found the gremlin. I'd have been myghty pyssed, too.

Nice diggs GRB! I see you found a belly button ring too......
Nice pile of coins.

Keep safe and well connected...

Hey All!
Thanks for looking!
I'm taking today off as the back's a tad sore from all the bending this week.

*Charlie, I should have listened closer to what you wrote! I guess my first inclination (reading reviews of the F-75's tenacity to squeal) was to blame the machine and not the "idiot" on the other end. Check's in the mail! :)

I don't possess a coin book; is the 1869 IH worth anything? It looks in pretty good condition. The tot lot was covered in wood chips and the Indian was hiding only an inch or two below surface.

Thanks!

The worth of the Injun, as you know, depends on its condition. The 2008 Red Book goes like this: G-4 $70, VG-8 $90, F-12 $220 and on up to $650 MS-63. There is another 1969 which has a 9 over 9 that is worth a little more so check that 9 out.

Hey Prober thanks a tonage! :)

I was in Pueblo with my wife today, taking her shopping and I picked up a 2008 Red Book. I think the 1869 IH coin is at least a G rating.

The 1979 SBA has a "FILLED S" making it a little bit of a rarity also. It was a good day!
