Big Strange Hinge !

It looks like bronze or brass . The ''ball'' thing with the hole in it (by the 2 bolts) swivels .

It is heavy 6-7 lbs . I'm sure my scrap guy will like it .........any ideas?

I polished it with Brasso

looks like - BR MFG CO . 980-4

Looks like some type of front end suspension. Car? farm machinery?

i think a drag link for an old tractor. the tractors used to have one in the back end middle for hooking what they called a three point hitch. the other two points were the draw bar swivel points. farm boy Bill.

I dont know what it is, other than the part that swivels. It is a bronze bushing.

looks like too soft a metal to be a top a frame member but def attaches to a frame with shock or hydrolic attachment

With today's throw away mentality, your shirt would go in the scrap pile. You remind me of myself. Some of my favorite clothes look like that one of yours. 8) I remember the old days when we sewed holes in socks. What happened to those days of waste not and make do and be happy with what we have?

That's funny , bigcypresshunter ....... I've had that shirt for about 20 years now. LL Bean , I it's one of my favorites . You kind of get attached to a comfy shirt , no matter how tattered it gets ! I may have to get the needle & thread out soon .

I understand completely. My grandmother used to sew my clothes on a machine. Was great. Now i give to my Dad, if I see him. When hes gone, I will have to learn to sew myself, ...or part with some of my favorites.

great shirt mo! i just had to put my favorite insulated shirt shirt to death by fire. the stuffing was coming out every where. i got into a burdock patch and the burdocks were stuck all thru the stuffin'. that night at my fire pit i had a lone honor cerimony and a stiff drink in it's memory.

I'm not 100 percent sure what this picture is of, but it looks like a crime scene!
Your hinge thingymabob looks meant to be locked for what ever reason. The two holes that line up when "closed" Not sure if thats farm equipment stuff or not. I guess instead of "locking" could just be meant to be held in the closed posisiton with a pin or something.
