At a last minutes notice a buddy and I were informed of a Civil War site we could hunt, but needed to be there soon as he was moving and was selling the land. We drove 3.5 hours and headed out in his wooded area to some old trench lines. After about a 3 hours hunt there with very little finds such as shot gun shells and a few pieces of iron we left and went to the mans house, he told us we were welcome to search his yard so we set out. Started off finding mercury dimes a 1935D & 1944, then found a 1953D & a 1964 Rosie Dime. Then a 1945 wheat penny, a 1944 Canadian penny, three Buffalo Nickels 1935,1929,and a no date. Then I got an over load on my MXT almost didn't dig it thought it was another Vanna can but dug it anyway and inch down was a 1961 Benjamin Half. You got to Love old Houses. Needless to say I am still a Civil War virgin , but maybe just maybe one day I find something Civil War.
Thanks for reading and Happy Hunting!
