Hit an old farm house and while out in front of the place I was finding alot of clad. I had jsut dug out a couple of clad dimes and pennies and re-scanned the hole and got another solid penny/dime signal off to the side of it, I re-dug expecting more of a clad pocket spill and was VERY pleasantly surprised when this rolled out..an 1856 Seated Half.... ;D It is drilled but it still made my day finding it....

lol...you're just squatting there looking at your memorial penny you just dug...you recheck the hole...oh, sigh, i missed one over here...widen the hole..a seated half rolls out? ;D
Very sweet. I'd love to find one of those one of these days. Might wanna hunt that house again huh. Good luck and congrats!

Great find, what a shock it must have been to have that big silver pop out!!

Good thing you checked that hole again. I'd like to find a drilled coin or love token because it's a more personal item.
In fact I've been thinking about drilling out a few of my old finds (just kidding).

Whoo-ee!!

I thought, "How could they DO that?", but its life as a pendant is how that great coin kept all that detail.

I promised my daughters that I would get them a dog if I find a 1850's or earlier silver....Yours is great, not sure if I want a dog though...Ha Ha......jgas
