Today in San Francisco I met up with Ken who I met on treasurenet. We started our day at a small playground and only found some clad after two hours worth of hunting. So we left and headed for a spot that I had drived by at least 50 times. I've always wanted to hunt this spot but some of my hunting partners said it was a waste of time. It is a dirt medium strip that's about 500 feet long and about 20 feet wide on one of the main drags in S.F. Right off the bat I started finding wheat pennies, that's always a good sign. First silver coin was a 1944-P merc, second one was a 1960-D rosie, and my big surprise was a 1942-S Liberty Walking Half Dollar! It was about 5 inches deep. Total wheat pennies for the day in this dirt strip was 14. Also got two sterling silver religious medals in the same hole, both were attached together. Ken got a silver ring but had to leave early.
