Hey guys, I didn't think I'd be able to get out this morning but today's plans kind of disintegrated, so off I went to a park I really like to hunt. It is the same park I pulled that Bicycle Licence out of. I got to the park around 6 and started detecting, listening for the deeper signals but still pulling lots of clad from the 2-4 inch range. After about 30 minutes, I got the first solid 90 VDI (50 cent reading) ever on the M6. I used to get the 50 cent signal on the Ace all the time but it always ended up being a big can or peice of siding or whatever. No matter how I swung the coil, the M6 was telling me 50 cents. I dug a big plug so as to not scratch the coin, if it was a 50 cent peice. After digging down about 6 inches, I pinpointed the plug with the Sun Ray and the target was there. I slowly broke apart the plug, and lo and behold, there was a very shiney Kennedy looking back at me. My first silver 40%er with the M6.
About that time, I noticed a man metal detecting not too far from me. I couldn't tell what detector he was using, but he was swinging that thing like a pendulum! I wasn't sure if he was reaping an imaginary field of wheat, or metal detecting. He would stop, look down, kick at the ground, and keep on detecting. Sir, if you are reading this, I'm sorry, but you've got it all wrong!
Eventually my hands began to hurt and my back was hurting a bit, so I left. Just over $10 in clad, a key, a Canadian cent, a huge commemorative medallion of the Constitution (1787-1987), and other assorted odds and ends. Oh, and the silver half. A pretty good day if you ask me!
Good luck guys.
Joe
