Well the girlfriend and I took a trip to NC to visit her family over New Years holiday, and since I have been unable to hunt for weeks due to several feet of snow, I took the detectors along. I was invited to her uncles place as he had recently purchased a homestead that he was told dated back to the mid 1800's. Of course I was thinking Civil war era relics, but several hours in hadn't turned up anything but a few modern clad coins and a lot of trash. Just when I was starting to get really discouraged, I dug this entire roll of pennies penny roll spill2.jpgpenny roll spill 1.jpg It was quite a rush for that whole stack to pop out of the ground for sure. Sadly not even a single wheat penny.
About 15 minutes later, the gf and her dad got a huge signal which they assumed was just more junk, turned out to be our first "Spanish silver" lol, 1931 Panamanian coin. The old man was literally shaking like a little kid, can't say that I wouldn't have been if I found it too.balboa face.jpgbalboa back.jpg They were too excited to get a pic of the coin in the hole. Just before dark I scored a nice 1935 Washington quarter also. So we ended up having a great day, even though I never would have guessed I would ever have found either of these. Gotta say I'm not happy being back up in the snow belt of NY again, spring cant come soon enough. Thanks for looking and sorry about the rambling, as always HH.

Nice finds all around!

Don't know about others but I think finding a whole roll of pennies in one hole is pretty doggone special!

WTG!

Imagine if all those pennies were IH....*daydreams*

I couldn't believe it when the first of that roll of pennies popped out of the ground, which is the pictures I took. As I started picking them up, the first date I noticed was 2000, so I knew right away that the roll hadn't been lost that long ago. Still hard to believe that someone loses a whole roll of pennies though...

Maybe copper knuckles? Nice hunt, great finds, congrats!
