Dug this Barber quarter (no mint mark) yesterday! It was about 7-8 inches down and it was a tough retrieval due to roots that were crossing each other. This is my third 1800’s coin in approximately 3 weeks. The others were a 1881and1882 Indian head pennies.

Great find. Continued success. :icon_thumright:

Nice find! :icon_thumleft: I had to give up on many signals due to roots. BIG roots and many of them.

I've some good fortune under large old trees. Under one old tree in what used to be the yard of a very old church I found 4 IH pennys and one V nickle among modern clad, a buckle of unknown vintage, and brass overall buttons. Farmers will nearly always let you search around old trees in their fields and there are usually something to find.

Beautiful coin and so nearly a seated. Well done.

I would guess one day you might find a bag of old treasure where would plant a tree on it so they dont forget about it

Sweet find, the dig payed off.

That’s a beautiful save. Congrats

Big silver is so sweet to find.
