I dug this on Friday at an old homesite in a rural area. Looks like part of a plow or implement. It's concave shaped and very thick (> 1/4") at the non-pointed end. Can anyone elaborate? How old?

Hard to say .. the same style has been around for many years. Once you get it cleaned, you might be able to find a name on it that would help pinpoint it some.

Last week I found 3-pieces of iron that fit together -turned out to be a hiller-furrower-pulled by tractor or horse. the pieces were at the base of a rock wall, in an area I didn't know was farmed as
its all trees now.I don't know how to age mine either. good find.

Can you see any stamping of numbers or letters in the metal? If you can it is most likely machine stamped. If not it is possibly hand forged. There are literally millions of them floating around in dirt across the country. No real value either way but a cool conversation piece.
