STERLING RINGS, that is! Big and fat,...obviously because they weigh more. Ugly,...because Mrs. Sub won't want to add this one to her personal stash. (Kidding. I love it when she wants to wear jewelry that I find...)

Well, this hideous adornment was in the lawn of a well-hunted park today. It rang out a banging 83 at 1" down. It weighs in at 8.6 grams and has some kind of faux (?) rose colored pearls. It is hallmarked with "GSJ, China, and .925."

Also scrounged from the park were a small silver plated ring, a bumblebee charm, and a silver plated set of three tiny bells.

Finished up the day with a set of keys, fistful of clad, and a broken horse buckle cover. Thanks for looking, I wish all of my Tnet friends a productive weekend hunting! Sub 8-)

Yep, big is better when it comes to silver. Kinda disappointing how little it's worth anymore. Gotta have a lot of it to be worth much. (intrinsically, of course).

Congrats!

At first I thought you were talking about my ex-wife...lol. But that is one lunker of a ring! Great finds Sub, that looks like a great hunt you had there! Ddf

I thought I'd have to put my beer goggles on to read this post. :tongue3: That ring was not lost accidentally, I bet it was thrown as far as they could throw it. Ugly is too pretty of a word to describe that one.

But seriously sub, congrats on digging 1 more silver and the other 3 junkers. :occasion14:

Well done Sub, , a couple pieces of silver, no matter how ugly, is all it takes to make me happy.
Congratulations

:thumbsup:I'm going to start keeping keys and make wind chimes out of them.

LOL! The park lawn where I found "Ugly Betty" is where many dog owners toss toys and balls for their pets. I am sure some lady threw that ring and her dog said, "I ain't chasin' dat..."

Not the prettiest ring I've ever seen, but got to admit it's still an eye catcher. Congrats!

Very well done Lance!

Man, you got that right about big and ugly! I think Cjon455 may have found a bigger and uglier one a couple years ago though:laughing7:. About that plated ring...I found one that looks identical to it last year. Do you have any info on it? I meant to take mine to a jeweler and see if the stones were real but never did.

Old Dude, Under a loop, that plated ring appears to have tiny copper nubs circling the ring in the channel. So everything else on the ring is plated, with the exception of the nubs. I think....Sub 8-)

Nice!! She is ugly but, she's silver.

That's a honker.

I think the owner of that ring was watching you dig it Sub. They wanted to make sure it was gone and said " Thank God its going to a new home now ". Nice finds.

That is one big ring, congratulations! :occasion14:
