Until this past week, water hunting season has gotten off to a slow start for me with little to show for a half dozen hunts except a few junk rings. Last week though, I pulled this 8 ounce, enormous necklace out of the water. My excitement at seeing it in my scoop only lasted a second because as soon as I felt the weight I knew there was no way it was real. It wasn't but it does come in as the largest piece of jewelry that I have ever found.
The next day I was three hours into my hunt and had found less than 50 cents when I got a strong signal that I thought was going to be a quarter. Seeing this beauty in my scoop almost made me break my rule about not examining my finds till I get to the car, but the weight and color screamed gold. Its a big 4.7 grams of 14k, and one of the prettiest woman's rings that I have pulled up. While I am hoping to add a few more gold rings to my collection this summer, this one will certainly be on my best of summer list.
