Headed out to the sports complex again today for a morning hunt. There was a soccer tournament held there this last weekend. It was very cloudy and cool, in the mid-60s. I covered an area down a little ways from the concession building that I'd not hunted before, not too far from where I found the 1829 Large Cent last December. Picked up the usual clad, a watch, then an airplane. After several hours, near the corner kick area of one of the soccer fields, my DFX loudly screamed at me with a VDI of 92. The target was only about an inch or so down when I pulled the pinpoint trigger....thought maybe a soccer medallion? Dug the plug up and tuned it over and what do you know....out pops a 1972 Eisenhower dollar . Man, that's one huge coin. That's a first for me and made my day. Found 35 coins for $5.45. I have one unidentified coin, larger than a dime and smaller than a penny, but the corrosion was so bad, I couldn't make out any definition, appears copper...any ideas ? I have it soaking in olive oil. Thanks for looking
