I got out again today and located a foundation that was a schoolhouse on an 1875 map. I got an indian head within 2 minutes and knew it was gonna be a good day!!

Right near the foundation I found 3 Indian Heads (1864,1879, 1891) and 2 buttons. One says "W. Wallis Extra Rich Gilt" and the other reads "Rich Gold Colour". I also found this small gold ring with a green stone that is stamped GH-14K. This is the first gold ring I've ever found! It looks pretty old but I'm not sure when it might be from.

On the way out, I was searching along the trail (that used to be a road) and got a really nice signal..I dug down MAYBE 2 inches and out pops this 1779 Spanish 2 reale! Unfortunately it is a little bent and holed but I love it just the same!!

I saw another cellar hole along the road so I know what I'll be doing tomorrow....

I HOPE TO SHOUT YOU REALLY NEED TO REVISIT THAT SITE!
Super finds and congratulations to you. I think a lot of us would
quickly settle for a holed 1779 Spanish 2 reale. Nice. GL

Wow, great hunt! Go back!! :icon_thumleft:

thanks guys! you can bet I'll be back here bright and early tomorrow (for me at least....maybe 10 if i'm lucky)

Way to hit the good stuff.

Please check your ring closer that the GH is not GF. But gold is gold. If you can, see if you can clean the stone and get a photo with lots of light on it. I would like to see it closer. The prongs on it are telling me a couple of things.

It's definitely GH.

I took the best pics I could...I'm at college now and don't have access to a good camera. I got the best ones my camera phone could take. The stone fell out when i was cleaning it...I am not going to try and put it back. The stone is pointy on one side and flatter on the other. Hope the pics help.

Thanks!!

nice silver!!!! MR TUFF

The stone looks pretty good, and cleaned up well. It has the "blueness" of a Columbian emerald. I forgot which mine has the emeralds with the bluish tint. See if you can get it tested. The quality of the gold will tell you odds on if it is good or not.
