Hello all, I stopped at my favorite pawn shop. They've got an amazing variety of coins and always seem to have new stuff in. Anyways, I went rooting through the 5 for a $1 bin looking for anything interesting. Somebody didn't do their homework, 24 silver coins from late 1800's to early 1900's (about 2 ounces melt). Many of them are worth more than melt and I don't have in my collection- favorites being Cuban and Japanese silver coins. Also got a three cent piece mixed in there. Bunch of good trade tokens, including a nice one from Seattle, two V nickel love tokens, and a mysterious "Big Four"V nickel counterstamp. The 1909 Lincoln Centennial appears collectable (Bidding on ebay $20-$60). But my favorite find was this hobo nickel! I've been wanting one forever and I have a good feeling it's genuine. Early, uncirculated date, knife marks, proper toning and wear. It's even signed "Alfred". I never imagined I'd be paying $0.20 for any of these, ended up spending $10 for the lot of it. Also got some cull silver dollars at $16-$17 each.
My luck continued with a nice weighted sterling candy dish at goodwill for a cool $0.52.
