It may be Brass? It is way too heavy for a horse blinder though...thx for the responses...

It to me looks like some kind of shaft bushing for some unknown kind of machinery. I'm looking at the wear marks on the inside curve of it. Seems it sat on something spinning?

It looks like a surveyors mark from an old railway. Although it's just my guess. We have (kinda) similar ones up here from the 19th century, used by the C&NW railroad

Is it stamped 1/2 or 1 1/2 on the top? (or something else?)

Do any of the numbers seem to match to any dimensions or its weight?
