Vintage Ft Myers history here....
An advertising token from the 50’s, this is the second one I’ve found.
Also scratched out a couple wheats this afternoon, 31 and 52.

Nice finds Dave! Ironic about the token. Bet Thomas Edison handed it to the gardener!

Great area you have to hunt, I have family in Punta Gorda and have always wanted to detect there.

Very nice Thomas Edison token, nice job!

Nice job on the token Dave. Those are always fun to dig.

And out of the darkness, Thomas led his Gardener. lol
Congrats on a nice save.

Congrats on digging the sweet token with such provenance Dave. :occasion14: It being dug on the property once owned by Edison's gardener has to be worth something/added value. :dontknow:

Hey Kev... perhaps makes a good story, but nothing more than a coincidence.
Edison croaked in 1931, this was made in the 50’s, maybe still handed out in the 60’s.
My best honey hole is cleared and filled with 3+ feet of fill, but now that he surrounding woods are being cleared....
Not pictured is the ass~ton of trash I removed. This was likely dropped by a high school kid walking along the back edge of the property, along the branch. (That’s what we call a creek)
