The first machine was the best, however some other nifty finds turned up too:
I went to 11 stores, to check the self service coin counters and try out the new strategy.
1. 0.00 and the copper medallion
2. 44.00 yielded (13) 40$ halves (one a 1965), and (1) George Washington 250th Anniversary 90% worth about $11 & other tokens
3. 10.00 nothing
4. 14.00 nothing and a guitar pick
5. 5.00 yielded the 1963 Franklin, and a 1955 Portugese 10Esq which is 82% Silver and other tokens/foreign coins
6. 0.00 nothing because the sorter was already raided THAT DAY.
7. Permission to "verify the count on the coin sorter" not granted. Nice Manager though.
8. 4.00 yielded (3) 1964 90% Kennedy Halves
9. 2.00 nothing
10. 16.50 yielded a 1986-D Statue of Liberty Clad worth @$2
There was an 11th manager/store approached, who checks the bag herself, and did so 2 days previous. That was a first!
So (5) 90% and (13) 40% and (1) 82% silver coins. The Portugese 10Esq coin is @exactly the size of a half dollar.
$95.50 in halves or 192 coins. That is about a 9.95% return on the silver coins. $15 in gas and 4 hours.
