Take a set of inch calipers and tell us the exact diameter....weigh it in grains.
First guess is.....it looks relatively modern. If its .450-.454in diameter it looks to be about 378-475 grains. Originally designed for the 45/70 cartridge this bullet may also be used in the .458 Winchester..

Looks like a more modern bullet than CW era to me. You can still buy a mold for that model bullet although not very popular now days. I'd say more like the 1920s to the 1950s? It is designed for cased calibers and it could well be for a 45/70 depending on the diameter. Monty

Looks like the size & shape of a Henry-martini - post 1871, but they normally only have 2 rings :icon_scratch:
