Big 1700's silver 8 reale an 5 franc in the woods!!!
Hey everyone!!
Today I had a pretty eventful time in the woods to say the least. It was simply one of those days of MDing that can never be forgotten. So, I decided to hit a cellar that I've detected many times before. As I was on the old road going up to the hole, for some reason or another, I decided to stop at a foundation that I thought for sure I cleaned out. Well needless to say, I hadn't!!! 5 minutes after turning on my T2 I got a screaming 95 vdi next to a rotten stump. I flipped over my SHALLOW plug and out popped this beautiful holed 1799 8 Reale After performing a happy dance, I scanned the hole to hear another very high tone.(this is when I started filming with my phone) After digging a little more, Bam!, an 1811 5 Francs coin. Needless to say I didn't even go to my cellar hole but instead I gridded the area where I found the 2 silvers. This is actually the same foundation where I found a Morgan dollar and 2 Barber halves a few years ago.
After the hunt I sat down by the stream, lightly cleaned my discoveries and had a moment of thanks
(Sorry for the poor quality and filming technique of the video but I'm just lucky I was still speaking English after that discovery!)
Happy Hunting!
