Bicentennial Quarters

They were actually minted in both 1975 and 1976 so there are about twice as many of them as in other years (~ 1.7 Billion released into circulation from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints).

However, they are carrying a slightly higher value then normal clad Washington quarters because of their collectability.

I have stashed away a few of them.

maybe in 100-200 years... look at all the old coins out there now that are over 100 an some of them still arn't worth much, unless it has a mis strike or other error its going to take 2 -4 life times to be worth much

EVERYBODY saves/saved these stupid things. Take all you have and go buy a collectible coin and you will be a hundred times better off IMO.

I always save them anytime I see one and it does not matter what condition they are in. Are they ever going to be worth anything? They only go for about .50 per quarter on Ebay. I know they are not in short demand, but just curious what everyone thought.

Wow, .50 cents each? Thats double the face value for a coin with nothing really special to it. I would say they are worth something now. Thats just like getting $4 for the $2 bill nobody wants. Not bad.

If you can find some sucker who will pay you .50 for each one you have, sell him all you have, and then go to the bank and pick up some more boxes of quarters, pull out the 500 or so that you find and sell them again to the same sucker, repeat this process until you until you can retire. Honestly, take Cannonman's advice and cash in all of those things and go buy yourself a nice semi rare coin and enjoy it. If I sold every one of those quarters for .50 ea., I would feel as if I were taking advantage of someone. Whatever you decide, good luck.. Gpurs....

worth 25 cents and not worth hoarding. I think people are finally realizing this, cause I am starting to find them more in my change.

I noticed that too, I am finding them more and more in the tills at work...and yes, I hoard them...I love the design on the back....they ... for some reason ... fascinate me like the Wheat Penny does... I love the design on the back of the Wheatie... it's not about the monetary value (be it Wheat or Bi-centinel)..I just like collecting them :) ;D
