Both Philly and Denver mints made over 800 million of them apiece. If you find any from San. Fran. Though I would keep those, as they are proofs(clad AND silver). I mean you can try craigslisting them in a big lot and might turn a small profit. Otherwise they are worth a quarter IMO. Hope this helps.

I'm heading into town today to buy $600 worth of cwr quarters. I was informed that there are many bicentenials in the bunch. I don't see too many in circulation, as I believe many people have hoarded them. Opinions on collector value?

Looking at your own post, you can deduce the supply and demand. Many people including the general public hoarded them as it was the first design change in 40+ years for the quarter. Collectors who are completing a series set can easily buy mint sets for slightly over face, clad proof sets for a slight premium, and silver bicentennial sets (both business strike and proof) for melt. There is no shortage of the supply to generate higher premiums. The general public is slowly learning this fact and the rolls that were hoarded are being turned into the bank.

I would buy them anyway as it won't hurt to turn around and dump them. But you might have some stray silver. Also, if the bicentennials are in mint state, then you might want to try and flip a P&D roll on eBay. Keep in eye out for some attractive toning as the rolls that were hoarded were stored in paper that contained sulphur. Over time, there might be a few beauties. They won't fetch much on the open market, but they will only cost you a qtr. to hold on to the few that are worthy.

A few years ago I know you could sell them on the bay for 17-20 a roll.check completed listings some people will buy anything
