On my BHID 300 when the GB is not perfect as you pump it down the threshold doesn't change but it makes the "honk" sound, is that normal or should the threshold just get louder (if it's positive) without honking?
Thanks again

Joe I had to laugh at your "Honk" sound as the Excals are referred to as sounding like a strangled duck.
When you lower the coil and the threshold increases in tone or pitch it means it is positive like you said. However if it is in all metal like when you GB it, and it "Honks" it may mean you have a metal target under the coil. Also you could have some black sand inside the coil cover that sets it off when added to the ground minerals. It should remain smooth when you switch to disc.
ahhh..sounds like a major problem...just sell it to me and i'll put some money in it and fix it...does $250 sound right?
lol..but, seriously..check out what sandman sa
ys..he's usually right...but, if he's not...$250lol
