It is clad, but damn is it cool. I wanted to trade it for a pair of barber dimes at my local coin store but my 6 y/o fell head over heals for it so it made it's way into his collection!!
Thanks for looking-

I found one last week, as an Ender!! lol... I never even knew they existed... About 753k minted total...

Hmm a trade for silver, not a bad idea... Id rather have silver than clad

Nice!! I'd take that over a 40% any day, but would rather have a 90% lol

Glad your son can enjoy a nice proof commemorative :-)

Oh wow, I want one so badly! I don't care that it's copper-clad, it's a lower mintage commemorative. Very nice find!! HH

My son's interest in the hobby is worth way more. I want him to stay interested and have a strong understanding of how I accumulated his inheritance. I don't want him turning the collection in when I pass on giving my collection to the next gen CRHers!!! :D

Oh definitely, I was talking about for me :) I would trade mine for a barber or walker, ill have to check the LCS tommorow

Why not spend a few bucks and add 2 barber dimes to your son's inheritance as well? :-) I applaud you for doing the right thing, it's the little things that matter, especially to your 6 year old son! Kudos to you!

Well on the first I get some coin budget money and I usually get a buff or two for his album and some old siver for myself. Got an AU55 42 Walker for $14 this month! Not sure what it will be for April. Usually depends on what he has on hand. The old timers love chatting up my son that hang out at the store. They often comment that they feel coin collecting is dying off. He likes the attention.

Yeah, without younger folks to carry on the hobby of coin collecting, that $1,000 penny is only worth $0.01 unless somebody is willing to pay more for it... and without new people into coin collecting, the hobby could die just like stamp collecting. Honestly, I don't think coin collecting will ever be dead, at the local coin club I go to each month, there are a good 5-6 kids (ages 6-17) that attend each month out of roughly 40 folks, i'd say that's a good thing. Sorry for getting a little off topic.

Very cool find there Otra! I have yet to find one myself. I love finding the Comemoratives! HH, Maverick.

It's funny I was so distracted by the beautiful commemorative that I looked over the title. I would take one of those over a 40%er or a 90%er. ¡Dale duro para encontrar más monedas así OtraVez! HH

Oh that is fantastic! I would take that over a 40% at least once.

FloridaFinder I have one that is a D mintmark and not ultra shiny like the one in this post, if you want it you can have it =) Just need your mailing address to get it sent off to ya, will be happy to know it has a good home to go too. It was a cool change of pace to find it though in some halves and wonder what it was hehe.

No amount of silver or even gold is worth more than spending time and sharing something with your children that creates bonds that last forever. Nice to see that your Son is already interested in collecting at his age. While a couple of Barber dimes might be worth more money wise, I'm sure that a neat looking rare coin that was found while CRH with his Dad will always be worth more to your son than anything you could ever trade it for. Keep getting dime boxes and the Barbers will come. Our Son is 26 now and I wonder what some of the coins that I have found will be worth when and if he ever has children of his own to hand them down to. Good luck to you and your Son and HH.

Finding that would make my socks roll up and down faster than a PAIR of 40's.

Twia, that D mintmark is in fact more rare than the proof and in some cases more valuable! Sweet find! D mark 172k minted S 753k.

Most collectors want proofs, so the BU finish has less mintage. I bought one in mint packaging with a COA for $10.
