you would be better served keeping posts with more info and better pics in the parent thread, so all the info and pics are together.

I tried googling all the combos I coul come up without the middle initial and am blank.

Julian Flington, Ilington, Elington, Flingta, Ilingtan,Elingtan etc.

I don't think the second letter in the last name is an "L". It looks more like another "F" in lower case. :icon_scratch: I see Ffington, Ffirston, Efington, Efirston....

I googled this as well and tried a few websites but got nothing, are these from a "starving artist" sale?

(Could you add a link to the original post or show a complete picture? thanks)

Here are pictures of the entire artwork. It is a German shepherd. There is a name penciled in the lower left corner that says, "Fritz". The picture is approx 70-80 years old (1930's-1940's). The paper has browned quite a bit due to age.

I agree, I dont think its an L either, looks nothing like the L in Julian. But cant find any matches with any letters.

I looked at an art site and found over 100 artists' names beginning with Julian; none matched.
Maybe Fritz is the artist and Julian (whatever) is the name of the dog !!

I see, based on my studying old signatures;
"Julian, middle initial, another initial, then--LIVINGSTON."

There are possibly TWO "middle initials."
