Recently had this handed down to me from my mother. She said she got it from an elderly person that had it in the attic for a long time.
I have looked for some time on the internet to find out more about it...but haven't had a lot of luck finding the same one. The print has a marking on the right bottom corner that says "The U.S.P.& L. Co.". They were a publishing company in the 40's from what I have found so far. Only found one print on the net by them.....this one wasn't it.
The print measures 30" x 40". If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

I have a vague memory of this as a kid. :icon_scratch: Its a famous image often reproduced. :dontknow: I don't know a lot about Art but finding out who printed it. Like who the "The U.S.P.& L. Co." is would help you find a starting point.

Keep @ It and HH !!

Henry Mosler painting, called The Birth of the Flag, shows Betsy Ross and her assistants sewing the first American flag in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1777.
No one is certain if Betsy Ross really made the first American Flag, even her descendants.
Sorry that's all I know.
We have traced our family tree back to Betsy Ross on my mother's side.
I'll look for some more info about your print as I am interested in this picture as well.

okay so I have found canvass prints selling for (not actual sold price) from 50-100 US dollars. (framed ones are obviously a bit higher). as for the "The U.S.P.& L. Co." tag I'm not sure. sorry I could not have been more help. If you find anything else please post thanks.

I have seen the reproductions selling on ebay and other sites that are usually smaller prints. Will keep looking....
