New White House Petition Asking President Obama To Resign

In a recent speech in San Jose, Obama accidentally or on purpose hinted that he would be leaving the White House before his term expires. Certainly, the White House can’t be a very cheerful place lately, with Obama under fire for dereliction of duty in Benghazi, followed by a serious cover-up; presiding over an IRS that engaged in a partisan witch hunt; overseeing the largest expansion of citizen surveillance in American history; and attacking the press’s First Amendment rights.

Obama’s not the only one who thinks it would be a good thing if his second term ended prematurely. On the White House-hosted “We the People”, an online petition site, some enterprising citizens posted a petition demanding that President Obama resign:

President Richard Nixon resigned after wiretapping a handful of journalists, sparing the nation the ordeal of impeachment. We call on Obama to do the same. His administration vetted the NSA’s surveillance of millions of Americans and seriously violated the Fourth Amendment. He confiscated the personal records of reporters, thus violating the First Amendment, and the IRS under his watch harassed political organizations opposed to his policies. Moreover, his administration has lied under oath to Congress. In addition to violating Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution by invading Libya, his administration engaged in torture and conducted a covert drone war. Due to the severity of these crimes, we call for the immediate resignation of Barack Obama.

As for this writing, the petition already as 6,372 signatures. If it gets 100,000 signatures by July 7, than the Obama administration must respond to it.

I did not catch the speech. Could you provide further info about Obama leaving the white house before his term expires? I did not see that on any news sites.

Nixon resigned because of the illegal coverup he was part of, not the breaking in or wiretapping.

He was guilty of conspiracy in the coverup no doubt and would have been impeached, I was angry about the pardon.

He was actually guilty of much more, including directly ordering illegal wiretapping. There is a list of crimes. real indictable crimes.

I agree he should have gone to jail.

That said, in the ptetition above the wiretapping is soft pedalled. Of course that is for effect. The effect being Obama's crime's are so much more egregious. Of course obama hasn't committed any crimes and has no intention of stepping down. Nor should he.

Why post crap like this when all it does is detract from the serious dialog of what is happpening in our country today? it seems all you and others here want to do is sling mud. And, this isn't even up to that standard.

TH, of course it is a real site. I believe NF was questioning the absurdity of the petition and the obscurity of the article you posted.

Please stop with the immature "if you dont like it, dont read it" nonsense. We are here and we obviously want to engage in discussion about these topics.

Regardless of how absurd the petition is, you gotta admit that Obama is about as trustworthy as a fox in a hen house. That guy is oozing scandal out of every pore. The problem is, it's dripping off of him like a greased pig. He has shyster written on his forehead.

TH, the problem with something like this is it further marginalizes an already marginalized faction of voters. That would be the far right. It you want to be heard you need to be relevant. And posting things like this isn't going to get that done.

You and others here keep posting subjects that have no basis in fact. One of my big issues with the right is the appearance that the constituency will believe anything. The bigger issue, their leadership takes advantage of that fact.

My humble opinion is that he has far surpassed carter, as worst president ever, but his supporters (the recipient class), will support him, no matter what. He is arrogant and egotistical and would never voluntarily resign. If he was thrown out, then we get Biden, who is equally as bad.

I simply posted the petition for him to resign, personally I would rather see him impeached, but after the congress is seated in Jan 2014....

Not worried about Biden, he couldn't find the oval office if he wasn't escorted.

Carter is happy, obama knocked him out of the "worst ever" category, at least since the depression.
