Best way to clean Sac dollars ?

Not to be facetious, but it'd be easier to take them down to the bank and exchange them for shiny ones. ;) (I'm sure a lot of banks still have them sitting around, since they were an unpopular coin.)

There's only so much you can do to clean those coins. The metallic composition is such that they're extremely difficult to keep and maintain in pristine condition. Once they're ugly, they usually stay ugly. :(

If you want to preserve them from further deterioration, put them in inert holders (no PVC plastic) or 2x2 cardboard flips, and keep them in a cool, dry place with some dessicant nearby.

Take the Sacs and place them in a shallow bowl.
Pour enough vinegar into the bowl to wet the coins.
Sprinkle salt on them.

The chemical reaction will remove all the dark spots.

this is how my mom used to keep her copper bottom cook ware bright.
The outside clad on the sac dollar is a brass composite ...
This method should work as well as anything.

DON'T DO THIS WITH OLDER COINS
Cleaning using this method is only recommended for junk.
