I have a few spots that I've hit hard over the last few years with the stock coil. Many of these places are full of iron, and I'm sure things are being missed. What is the best small-sized coil for the CTX that can be used to help find items in iron-infested areas?

Thanks for any input!

I guess nobody knows. I'll just look on Kellyco and get something there.

Figured someone would have input here since it's the Minelab forum.

Tester....it's SUMMERTIME here in the US anyway, guys are out detecting!:tongue3:
I have the 3 coils from Minelab, and I can tell you that they all have their place. The 06 is FANTASTIC,in MY junk and that's MY opinion. I will almost always run the Combined Mode setup that's been making the rounds for a couple years, with Ferrous Coin most of the time. If I'm hunting coins and I'm in a sea of pull tabs I'll run High Trash...really no matter how you do it a great deal of importance is in the Sensitivity setting. Too high in Manual and you will get more falsing on deep iron and weird ****. Too low and the 6"-9" stuff tends to be hard to find. Auto +2/3 seems to be what a lot of guys use but I like to run Manual more as time goes on,especially in areas without a lot of iron.
I'm not sure where you are or what you hunt but the 06 really does a killer job of telling me more precisely what's in the ground, and its NO slouch with the depth. Good luck and report back when you buy a small coil and use it some. I do LOVE me a good small coil!:icon_thumleft:

Just got the 6" coil in the mail! Will test it out as soon as we get some rain.

You will have noticed by now that the 06 is a chunky little coil! Once it's on the machine though, it is pretty light, compared to the stock. It's easy to swing too fast, just try to keep sweep speed in mind and concentrate on covering ground COMPLETELY,not necessarily QUICKLY.
Congratulations on the new hardware!
