I'm looking for recommendations on the best aftermarket coil I should consider for detecting an old farmhouse property with barn and barn foundation, where the ground is chock full of square nails and bits of rusted iron, tin snips from aluminum siding being put on the farmhouse at some point in the past, etc.

I was considering an Excelerator coil - either the 5 inch or the 4.5x7 inch.

I'd love to know what you all would use in a situation like this.

Thanks,

Jim

I only can talk to the 5" Detech coil.

Pro's:
light
very good depth
very stable
good pinpoint
DD type coil

Con's:
Have yet to find any

It works for all kinds of trash, even in "hunted out" spots it can do finds..I've tried it.

In my book Detech stand for good quality. 8)
