Hey there all. Did not order any boxes this week but did start out last Sat picking up loose halves, $59.50 in all, $50 in CWR dimes and $25 in cents.
Turned up a 67 40%'r, a 1963 Rosie and 12 Wheat Cents. Not to bad for $134.50.
On Wed I stopped into my business bank to make a deposit and asked if there were any halves. Teller said no. When I looked at the tray I saw a silver quarter in the bottom of the $4.25 that was there. I causally asked for all the quarters and was on my way. When I looked down in my hand, I saw the 1962 AU shinning beautifully and smiled. :-)
Then on Friday I made a few stops at some local banks and picked up a 66 Kennedy in nice condition out of $7.50 of halves. The teller even told me that she was glad to get rid them. I was glad she did to!
Then the big score. Today at 3:15 I stopped into a bank and got $11.00 in cents and 2 measly halves. Disappointed, I drove the long way home to make a last ditch effort to get some coins for Sunday. Asked for halves and the teller said she had like $20. I said I would take them all. She set 2 rolls on the counter that were old and had yellowed tape and newer tape on the other end. On the rolls was written 64 Kennedy on 1 and 9.50 - 51, .50 -35. I saw that and got really excited! I whispered to my son to read what they had while we were waiting for her to come back with a box of pennies that he asked her for. I just wanted to get those rolls in my hands and forget the pennies. So we get to the car and we are joking about how someone is messing with us. I even said that I did not want to open them until later just so I could keep hope alive. Then I picked one up and it was heavier than a "normal" roll I had in the glove. I said that i had better open this thing cause it really had me going. Then about 2 miles down the road I managed to get the end open to find a Liberty Bell staring back at me. I turned it to my son and we both said at the same time, "OMG. OMG" I emptied the roll and the other end was a 1935 Walking Liberty. So 19x 1951 Franklins and 1 1935 WLH. Just like it said on the roll. I pulled over to open the 1964 Kennedy roll. A solid roll of 64-P Kennedys. They look Unc to me. What a freaking great day!
I will post pics tomorrow.
