It's going to be relatively small for my first go. I only have a sluice that is 7" wide by 24" long. I want to build a hibanker so I can run my sluice at home. I was just going to originally grab a sump pump, then I thought a bilge pump, but now I have no idea what the difference is, or what gpm to get. I was thinking 1200 but I'm not really sure. Anyone got any tips?

The guy that I prospect with has a Harbor Freight 1'' 72cc clear water gas pump it runs his Gold buddy High-banker. Yours is smaller so that would do the trick if you want gas power. And if you look at their fliers you can get them pretty cheap.

The pump I told you about weighs 40 lbs. It's about the same weight as a battery.

If you are just going to put limited amounts thru that 7 inch sluice these are pretty darn good pumps. Harbor freight seems to have discontinued them tho...

Pacific Hydrostar 94639 12 Volt Marine Utility Water Pump

You can still get replacement parts from harbor and I'd advise getting a set of impeller inserts for the future. Simple hose fittings.

They discontinued the 1 1/2'' pumps. My friend just got his 2mos. ago
