Try Kingsley North for your rock hunting items. I use them as a base, to get an idea about what things are running. They are good about answering questions that you have about things you want to purchase. You can shop around and maybe find it cheaper, but I like that I know what I am getting and can trust them. As far as polish, I currently use a ZAM stick, it runs about $15 for the tall stick, I use it with a cloth wheel on a grinder. C and M Rock Shop in Beulah, Michigan is a good place to pick up small amounts of grit and other items but they are only open in the summer. The people that own this place are very helpful with lots of questions you have about getting started. You can google both of these places. Kinglsey North has an online store, and is very reliable.

Thank you for your reply!

I wonder why it is so hard to find a local supplier in Michigan when we have so many lakes and beautiful rocks? I will check out kingsley north. Have you ever purchased off amazon?

I agree With T.C. The Rock Shed in S. D. I just ordered a 10" trim saw from them and it was a loretone and the beat loretones price enough to pay shipping. also best place buy gritt. If you polish hard stones you wont get good results unless you use polishing grit for hard stone, found out hard way. I would compare there prices before ordering.

Buy local, save on shipping. The more you buy the less you pay. Michigan has great rocks, but not many people, and population drives commerce. The great wave of mom & pop rockshops in the post-war years is long over, it was a golden age of rockhounding. Used to be a rockshop anywhere there was a mine that produced some crystals!
