I went out to an old, unmaintained road that was once part of the original north/south highway in NH. Nearby was a colonial era farm. So I first poked in the area of another old home that has long since burned down. Found huge piles of wine bottles and Narraganset (tin) beer cans. After enough of that I went back out to the old road and started finding coins. Granted I only found 4, but they were cool ones. I found a 1902 silver Canadian dime, 1927 and a 1944 wheat pennies, my very first 1904 indian head penny. Then I found a large one that I couldn't even tell it was a coin until I did some cleaning to it. I'll post a better picture of it in the "What's This"? forum. The rest of the loot is a pocket knife, a half hoss shoe, a cigarette case, some assorted hardware and three shotgun shells.

piles of beer cans you say - Id like to check those out - would those be easy to find.....or way out in the woods......(?)...you can clean up rusty old cans better than you would think....

Nice very nice.Congrats.

Nice Finds! That square item looks like an old compact (Makeup holder).

The container had a curve to it, like a flask. But thin enough for a row of cigarettes. I'm just guessing. I would have preferred it to be packed with gold coins, but maybe that will come next time.

The can/bottle dump pile was not far off the old road. Up against a rock that was probably drug to this spot my a glacier. They were all in decent shape. The cans rusty but not crushed. The bottles were all intact and with caps on them. The dates on the bottoms of the wine bottles were mid 60's.

LOVE THAT OLD CANADIAN SILVER 64k.gif

Nice finds I would hang around there a while!
That Canadian could be worth a couple hundred.

Perseverence rewarded you with some very nice finds. Congrats and thank you for sharing with us

That is always the icing on the cake that we all hope to find. That is why I think that we detectorist miss out when we discriminate that ''iron'' pot which contains that hoard of gold. :icon_scratch:
