Relic machine of some type will be the best bet for hunting on those types of sites. Tesoro is what most guys in the south use for relic/old coin & battle field hunting.

I would suggest the Minelab Explorer II or Whites DFX. Their a little pricey though. A Tesoro would be a more economical choice. HH

I have an Minelab Exolorer II , Whites DFX and Minelab Musketeer Advantage. And Bulletboy is right. For the price $ 339.00 out the door at Kellyco ,the Advantage for ease of use and impressive depth, would be a good choice. HH

Minelab Advantage sounds good, what sort of depth can they detect at ?

What really makes it shine is the 15" WOT coil I picked up for $50, that makes a big difference!

nashwen; There's no way to tell you an exact depth. All i can tell you is that it rivals the other companys top of the line detectors in depth. Minelabs ad on the musketeer, says it has the depth that detectors costing 3 times as much have. I was skeptical about that statement, but since i got mine it has really impressed me. Hope this helps Good luck and Happy Hunting

Don't want to sound pushy, but it'll GB in pretty tough soil conditions as well as go deep with discrimination turned way up. And it loves silver.
