Went out with my best hunting partner ever today. I am super glad to have met JMcraz8 he is an awesome little fellow with great morals. We have a 20 year age difference but he has the mentality of an old soul. Just wanted to give him props for being such an outstanding young man. Today we started off the day in a field I had found a few musket balls and flat buttons at other times. It sits near a park that is a fair ground. We didnt manage much but I picked one piece of buck up from a buck and ball. The field yeilded us both some clad. After about an hour I wanted to inspect a site I remember from years ago that an old timer had shown me some civil war bullets he had found when he plowed his fields. This was about 15 to 20 years ago and the old fellow is dead now so the propety belongs to someone else. I for some reason never thought of it and was kinda scared of the area since it is not a great area to be in nowadays (if ya know what I mean) The sad thing about this area is it is kinda run down and full of drug activity. There is a field in the back of this trailer park that is still a garden area that was the area that I remembered the fellow saying he found these bullets so many years ago. Since our local area only has a few spots that had CW activity they are few and far between. Well I told jimmy to pull in to this spot and told him to stay in the car for a minute. I talked to some fellows and got us permission to check out the area:laughing7:. I just wanted to confim what I thought I was shown so many years ago. Well within about 20 minutes I was a little timid walking around and had dug several pieces of trash. Then I got a good penny signal on my classic id and about 3 inches down out pops this nice bullet to confirm what I thought I remembered seeing all those years ago :icon_thumleft:. I am not sure what type it is. THe bullet is a two ring style and I would say a 58 caliber. We stayed for just a little while and decided to head out after about an hour of hunting without finding another. I hope to go back someday soon to look a little more but dont want to be in the area very long. The area is kinda junked up and over grown but did managed one good bullet today. We left the site and hit an area I had got permission at before and managed a bunch of clad. On the way out of this spot we stopped at a big field and managed to get permission to another good looking area. All and all it was a good day. Nothing special but a good day out. Any help on Id'ing the bullet would be great. Thanks for looking.

Awesome find Todd, i'm glad you found that today to validate your story, I hope someone on here can find out what kind of bullet that is, always a pleasure hunting with you, had an awesome day today definitely my best day in clad!!

Great finds and story! HH

Updated pics

I may have been mistaking on the size of the bullet. I put some other bullets I have found next to the one I found today. The one on the left is the one I found today. It seems to be as big as the biggest three ringer I have found. I guess a 69 caliber. Since I dont hunt just civil war items I am not that fimilar with the bullets and sizes. I just know that the one I found today is different than all the other bullets I have found in the past.
