Best Day Ever Part 2:"Someone Pinch Me I Must Be Dreaming"
After being home a few hours, I thought I would pass the time until the wife got home from work with a follow up hunt at the house I was at earlier..... I figured I had found most of what was there as I had been over the entire yard.... I went back and after about 15 minutes... I found a Cherokee Village Sovenier Token, and a Sparples Fob Type thing... it says Sharples on the bottom front.. then the back says Sharples Seperator Company West Chester, PA Tubular Cream Seperators and Milkers..... any ideas how old this might be ??
I went on to find a '43 Merc, '54 Silver Rosie(holed driiled in bottom) and a 1919 Merc.... not bad for the 15 minutes it took me to find them..............
Then, I found a button, about the size of a penny, it was a holder on the back to sew it to the clothes through, the front is blank, but the back says :NE Plus Ultra.... there might be letters before the NE, I cant see for certain.. any ideas about what this button might be, and an age on it
Then, I dug several Wheaties,,, including a '24 and (2) '16d(too bad they weren't Merc's huh LOL) in one hole.....
Next hole...... nice solid penny/cap signal.... 4.5" down... another wheatie... then Oh Sweet Lord..... BAM..... 1864 2 Cent Piece... The scan doesn't even come close to doing this justice...... The back is nearly flawless and rim is crisp... this was lost VERY new..... The front has some corrosion, but it is surface only,,,, if I could get it off this thing would be perfect..........I have several that are in circulated condition that i have picked up over the years and they pale to this one...and best yet... this was my first 2 center..... continued a few feet... then an 1893 IH...... several more wheaties..... by this point, I am beat.. the yard looks like a wr zone, cause I dug all 17 coins I found on the afternoon hunt in one area like maybe 4' by 4'.. the owner swung by and told me there was an old well close to that area that he had filled in.... guess that explains the cluster....... I called it a night... happy to have found the finds of a lifetime...... 5 silvers in one day.... an IH... 2 Center.... several wheaties.... n the other items..... whatta day.... but was it over yet TO BE CONTINUED...
