Due to the kindness of another MD'er. this old toad was able to go CW digging after a - gasp- 22 year absence. We were in central Virginia, and went several times, mostly to one little spot. The finds are posted. While not dug in one day, I've not found this much ever before from the CW. The ink bottle was on top of the ground under some leaf clutter. The bullets were scattered. Best was probably a little picket bullet that escaped the photo. Gotta find where I put it. The eagle buttons were from one site. The NY coat face was from another site nearby. The tall canteen is a French model 1858 the Union imported for the war, and the round is a standard issue US canteen. A large section of the back is present. I dug the KEEPER for the snake, but bought the snake to go with it. here was a lot of melted lead in one hole. Not pictured are some ration cans, a couple complete and broken horse shoe and about 6 underwear button. I don't know what the "thing" is next to the knapsack hook. The greenish material on the canteens is extra glue. I attached them to a foam backing. Thanks for looking
