Went back to the area in the gold coin field were I got 5 coppers and the 1834 sixpence on Sunday. Started popping coppers immediately and ended up with seven which I think is my most for 1 hunt. Probably close to 40 from this large site by now. Knew there had to be a half dime out there and finally after about six weeks since finding the site one finally revealed itself:hello2: Also had a heartbreaker silver quarter beneath a nearby old deer stand

You killed it, that silver looks a little lonely in that sea of coppers....;)

Yeah finding capped bust has been a real struggle for me over the years. Only one half dime and one dime and this site is in the right time frame for one though finding pre 1853 seated coins is no easy task either

I love old coins... those are beautiful... congratulations 👍

Well done on the latest recoveries of coppers and the silver.
The site has been treating you really well.
When you say large what size would that be? Just trying to get a sense on the spread of your keepers.

I would guess 2 acres with 3 hotspots. Heres a pic of some of it with cropmark in foreground

It's always a thought I have when I read about site references and spread of finds.
I get a feel for what the finder was doing, whether it was crop, field, bush, park, picnic type of site.
Then I can kind of relate to what I have done site wise. (if that makes any sense)

I added a pic of some of the site in previous post

Very Nice!!!!! Congrats!!!!

That's a crazy site. So many coppers, but what about buttons and other relics?
Thats what’s the most craziest about it. No buttons or any other relics that I can recall other than a silver thimble. I did find a circa 1800 home site nearby with the usual finds but all the large cents and other coins are a little bit later and far enough way to not be associated with it imo
