I guess no one elses lead is worthy to stand up to riggers of this magnificent specimen

Are those crickets I hear?

I think this thread is invisible

I figured the bullet posting was doing much right now, so here is a Dog carved out of lead that I found in a camp.

This isn't a bullet but it is lead and I believe it was carved from an artillery shell sabot. I dug this in a civil war pit. Evidently the soldier that carved it wrung off the heads. I dug the whole area out but couldn't find the heads or legs. It's about 3" long and 2-3/4" high. Scratched on the back is
116 vol regt
compA
thirteen
May 16 1863

I have no idea what the 13 means There is also something scratched down the horses neck which might be the soldier's name. I and some other's have tried several ways to bring it out but we were never able to.

That is soo cool looking. I can't wait to dig up something personal that has a regiment number or someones name or something. Found a catholic religious medallion in an encampment one time but it wasn't engraved, darn it.

My 3-ringer and musket ball turned fishing weight. Both patinas are original.
