Ok found an awesome kentucky militia civil war officers coat button at a skirmish site the the union fought Morgan's raiders!

Can anyone tell me what the brass thing is in the pics next to the penny (penny is for sizing)

Also if someone could help me on what the thing is in the last three pictures and also the broach thing as well!!

I also pulled a woman's relief corps medal 1883, and it has the woman's name it was issued to on the back, I'm gonna attempt to track her down!!!! Atleast HER FAMILY!!!

Oh YEAH. Check out the old Henry bullet casing with the RIMFIRE strike mark!!

Pioneer suspender buckle (PAT may 2, 1900)

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Pretty sure the thing next to the penny is the "jacket" of a modern bullet. I think I see rifling marks? Wonderful button! And last item appears to be a suspender clip? No idea about the round thing is in last 3 pics . . .

It has the letters 22h3 on it I've never seen a bullet jacket with writing anywhere!

Hmmmm. Ya got me then . . .

2.jpg COULD IT BE FROM AN OLD LIPSTICK? THEY MADE LITTLE SMALL ONES WAY BACK WHEN LOOKS ABOUT RIGHT SIZE AND THEY DID DO DESIGNS ON EARLY ONES

That is a copper jacket from a modern rifle bullet. I am 100% positive I have dug them and spent a ton of time on rifle ranges. And I reload my own ammo.

Recon I have never ever seen a bullet jacket with writing on it

What is the backmark on the Kentucky button?

That Kentucky state seal button is a sweet find. Congrats to you!

That KY button will clean up awesome with navel jelly. Nice find

What writing are you talking about?

Just wondering something (please don't take offence) and your not being able to ID the find beside the penny as it looks so much like a bullet, and you own 413 guns. Is the object hollow and light, or is it solid like a bullet, what threw you off in ID'ing the bullet besides the writing and what's written on the jacket?

There's no doubt it looks like a bullet jacket, I am a master gunsmith and work on guns everyday, and own many as you so kindly stated...I have never not once seen a bullet jacket (not a bullet) have writing on it, if you read my post above I wrote what the letters say!!

It's hollow and heavy again my first thought was a bullet jacket, until I seen the writing

I'm telling you it's a bullet jacket! And if it has writing on it then I guess you found a copper jacket from a bullet that has writing on it. But I know for a fact that its a piece of bullet

Well slap me silly for not using the right wording on " JACKET OR BULLET"!!! I really hit the target of being a soft spot in your "Master gunsmith qualifications" and I certainly apologize for not knowing that before researching your qualifications.

Like I said in the question " Please don't take offense" but I see your very sensitive when questioned anything regarding the above said, so lets leave it at that as I'm totally in the wrong for not knowing Jack sh#* about the topic and offending your qualifications.
