It will be interesting to see how many matches we can make.

Also, post your sportmens and hunting buttons too. The more the better, and will save people from having to figure out which it is they have. This does not include designed buttons with patterns, far too many are dug.

Here are my Livery, and a few more interesting ones. Anyone make a guess at what the last says?

Only one in four years...and it is nearly bent in half...running hare. Now that I think of it probably not a livery button rather than a sporting button...

Livery buttons are actually a fairly uncommon find for us and your 4 years without is proof of that.

I found one deep in the woods only target in 4 hours.
It says Boston shooting suit and G.W.S. and sons, around the edge.
The back i think was iron because it is gone.

The one nice livery button I had found in England went through the wash and ended up lodged half way down the plastic discharge pipe buried a foot and a half under my lawn. Every time I detect the lawn with the 15' coil I pass over it and wince. >:( :D

If the two Hammered coins I lost this year were buried in a pipe under my garden, I'd dig that pipe out :icon_thumleft:

:hello: :icon_santa:

The few I have :P

Yes Shaun, if even one of those sweet hammered coins you found were stuck in MY pipe I'd dig it out too! :icon_thumleft:

Sadly before I was interested in buttons I sold quite a few nice Livery types. However, here is this collection I have left:

(most are in poor condition)

Quite a collection. Gotta love the variety, but I must say that "V" would have had me cursing.

I've only just realised how lucky we are in this area for buttons. Sometimes you just think that the whole country is similar, but clearly not.
