Hi all,
New to the forum, just found it doin some research on Austin,Pa.

Used to detect back in the 80's and got out of it for quite some time.
Just got another machine 2 days ago, a whites 6000 series 2 and took it out for about 45 min to one of the areas I detected long ago.

My first finds with this machine in an area full of pulltabs and fill dirt full of iron....2 quarters, 3 dimes and 6 pennies.
All newer coins but who cares. i found stuff and the machine worked like my old whites 6000 that i used back in the days.

There was a picnic in the area where I had found barber dimes before so I'll have to give that a shot when picnic season is winding down.
Nice to read all your posts.

Welcome to the Tnet forum!

Detecting is like riding a bicycle. You never forget. PLUS, it's a lot more fun! :D

Looking forward to seeing your finds and happy re-newed hunting!

Welcome to the nut house, lol

I hunted a place that I used to hunt back in the 70's and found some goodies. I got tired of hunting that place back then because the finds were getting scarce. I was also a teenager back then and probably had a lot less patience. I was surprised to find silver and wheat's there and a nice ring. So go back to your place and find some goodies for us to drool over, lol...Happy hunting to you

Welcome from the UK.

If you detected in the 80s you must have some 'Best Finds' to post?

Those 6000's are fine machines and it's good to hear you got the bug again, I went for several years not detecting much, I was working 2 jobs and putting my nose to the grindstone to buy a house, my brother bought one and I'm back at it full force again and loving every minute of it.

Welcome! Glad to hear you're back hunting. Look forward to seeing your post.
