Posting two hunts in one post. One from today (3/25) and one from last Saturday (3/19) from the same site.
Went hunting for the second time with a new hunting buddy in Charlotte today and had a good day. We had a great time (he found silver too and will probably post it as well).
Ben came to visit along with lady Mercury.
Today's finds: Franklin half 1953D, Mercury 1944D, 5 wheaties (1944, 52D, 2x56D, 56), along with the usual clad and memorials, copper pipe, trash....
Last Saturday we hunted the same site and it was a pretty good day then also. Found a 1943 Mercury, 1959D Rosy, 8 wheaties (1944, 45, 50, 51D, 52D, 53S, 58, ?? flattened on date) along with the usual 3-4$ of clad and associated trash.
You can see the rust stain where the nail was nestled up against the dime in the hole. The E-Trac isn't really bothered with iron in the hole. I found several coins on these hunts with nails in the holes too. I also dug several, no make that many, aluminum caps that were coming up 12-43 consistently!
The season is starting off well for me with a new hunting buddy and my second ever silver half.
What I have to ask is: Why are there so many Denver coins in Charlotte, NC (and an S too)!
Thanks for looking and HH!!
