HI FOLKS,
I don't think this is Civil War era due to it's size and attachments on the reverse, but I DID find some C.W. relics in the same area, and I thought I would check with the experts just to make sure!
There are two small holes passing through the plate which at one time carried an attached device of some sort, but doggone it, it was nowhere to be found! You can almost see the outline of the attached insignia, but I really haven't been able to make it out. If anyone knows the age, use, or anything else about this plate, I sure would appreciate you posting it for me. Thanks a million! Jack.
